Canon has issued a product advisory for the Rebel T4i, EOS 650D and Kiss X6i.

The rubber hand-grips of some models may turn white, and produce a chemical called zinc bis, that can cause an allergic reaction.

To see if your camera is affected, the procedure is simple:
1) Click the link below to enter your serial number
2) Enter your serial number and then click the Submit button
3) You will get either a “Your camera is not affected.” or “Your camera is affected” message

If your camera is affected, according to Canon, “Preparations are underway to provide free repair service for affected cameras by replacement of the rubber grips. Once this repair service is available (ETA of mid July 2012), we will post an update on our web site and also notify registered users via email.”
